Rationale

I wanted to use the war as a way to connect people, to both the history of the war, and the history of their family.

Each user will share a photograph of themselves, along with the name of their ancestor who was involved in the war.

The poster shows the generational
gap, and the connective ambitions of
the platform. The body copy leads the viewer to the website.

Digital

The purpose of the website is to connect people to their family history, and their long-lost relatives that are alive today, using the war as a lubricant to instigate that connection.

d1
How it Works

The user uploads an image with their name, and the name of their relative who was involved in the First World War.

This allows people to search their surname and connect with others who share relatives.

d2
Features

The website features a complete timeline of the war.

The on-this-day feature allows the user to select a location, showing localised events that happened during the war.
